Police have busted a gang involved in fake marriages and looting. Seven accused, including three women, of the gang have been arrested near Maharawal station. Among the arrested accused, two are from Aligarh and five from Bulandshahr district. A huge amount of looted jewellery, mobile phones, fake Aadhaar cards and cash have been recovered from the gang.

The Quarsi police team has arrested an active organized gang from near Maharawal station which was involved in trapping people and arranging marriages and cheating. In which five people including three women from Bulandshahr district and two from Aligarh district have been arrested. Jewelery and cash acquired through fraud and deception have been recovered from the possession of the accused. The main leader of the gang is Pradeep Sharma, under whose direction unmarried men were searched and cheated by getting them married to the female members of the gang.
Jewellery and cash were taken by fraud. All the members used to divide the jewellery and cash among themselves. All the marriage rituals were completed by preparing fake Aadhar cards of different names and addresses of the female members of the gang and showing them to the groom’s side. On the second or third day of the marriage, other members of the gang used to go to the groom’s house and send off their female partner as per the ritual. After that, the mobile number and Aadhar card were changed. No Aadhar card was used more than once.
